Biblical Prayers - No. 4

P O W E R

By the grace of my Lord Jesus Christ received by saving faith in Him in all the Scriptures:

Lord, thank you for having all power, and for offering this to me as a missionary for you. I believe that through the blessed Holy Spirit, I receive power to bear testimony to you before men. Please give me this spiritual power in abundant measure.

Thank you for the opportunity to witness the marvellous creation miracle of the new birth, when my Lord Jesus comes to live in the lives of others through the testimony of my own delight in Him.

Thank you for grace to be unashamed of the glorious gospel of Christ, which is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes.

Let gospel light shine in the hearts of all who hear me, to bring the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in our Lord's wonderful face.

I choose to bear fruit by the Holy Spirit, so that I may show love, joy, peace, kindness, patience, graciousness, godliness, righteousness, gentleness, temperance and other virtues to others, as a credible basis for my testimony.

I receive from my Lord Jesus gifts appropriate to my own abilities, that I might dedicate them to him as a means of communicating his gospel to those who need you. In particular, let the charisma of spiritual power be mine.

Let your word through me be living and powerful, sharper than any two-edged blade, piercing to the innermost being of all who hear, bringing them to life by the Holy Spirit. May you bring truth to bear on the hearts of everyone to whom I speak.

Lord, all salvation, praise, honour and glory belongs to you, because I could not raise an anxious thought in the heart of any sinner apart from you, nor could I bring salvation full and free to him apart from the wonder of your finished work on Calvary.
